We are seeking a Fixed Asset Accountant to join our Finance and Business Performance team. In this role, you will be the key finance contact for all matters relating to fixed asset accounting. You will maintain the integrity of Council's Fixed Asset Register, ensure compliance with policies and accounting standards, and lead tasks such as capitalisation, depreciation, disposals, transfers and revaluations. You will prepare fixed asset notes for the annual report, support audit requirements, and provide education and advice to managers and staff on asset accounting. This position also involves contributing to process improvements and supporting special projects that enhance asset accounting and reporting across Council.
To succeed in this role, you will hold a qualification in Finance, Accounting or Asset Management and have at least five years of proven accounting experience. You will demonstrate strong analytical skills, commercial acumen and the ability to work collaboratively in a matrix organisation. Excellent relationship management and problem-solving skills are essential. Experience in asset accounting and a Chartered Accountant qualification are desirable.
