This opportunity is well suited to executive level leaders with commercial and investment portfolio experience, and ideally an understanding of property-based assets.  It's an excellent impact role that will have long term positive benefits and implications for Napier City; ensuring Napier City Council's portfolio is set up and optimised to enable delivery of commercial rates of returns to Council.

AIM is a stand-alone entity that has been established by the Napier City Council to apply a commercial lens and to manage Council's long-term investment portfolio of circa $180M. As their Chief Executive your focus will be to work closely with the newly established board to steer and guide their strategy, key stakeholder and shareholder engagement, administration, governance, and reporting structures.  Your leadership will provide hands-on support to the independent Chair and ensure effective investment oversight and execution of predominantly property investment related programs, projects and processes.  

This role suits an experienced executive with outstanding stakeholder engagement skills, capable of balancing strategic understanding with practical delivery — you will be equally comfortable preparing board materials, analysing investments, managing consultants, and coordinating key projects. If you are well positioned to ensure AIM's strategic commercial priorities and operational activities are executed effectively, that reporting and compliance is rigorous, and that stakeholder and shareholder relationships are well managed then we are keen to hear from you.  

Remuneration will be on a pro-rated, and either as an employee or on a contract for service basis, for an anticipated 3 days per week, initially for a period of one to two years depending on the experience of the successful candidate.
