Prospa Contracting Services is EastPack's Orchard Management Machinery and Spray Division, servicing one of the largest orchard management companies in New Zealand, offering a full range of services that aim to optimise productivity and maximise returns for our growers.

We are looking for an experienced, and well-rounded Senior Sprayer Operator to assist our Central Operations Manager in this permanent 2IC role with our Spray Division team, based in Te Puke. You will be responsible for operational orchard activities such as mowing, mulching and spraying services for our orchard maintenance programme for our kiwifruit growers. This role will also involve assisting with scheduling the workload during peak periods, relieving the Operations Manager when absent, assisting with training new operators and overseeing occasional repairs and maintenance tasks on machinery.
We would love to hear from you if you possess the following:
- Previous experience operating mowers, mulchers, sprayers and tractors
- Mechanical aptitude
- Have a current grow safe certificate and understand the safe use of agrichemicals
Understanding of the impact of weather conditions for spraying and spray requirements for kiwifruit orchards
Have your own reliable transport and full clean NZ driver's licence (at least class 1 AND class 2)
- Kiwifruit industry knowledge / experience would be an advantage
- Comfortable to work independently and as a team player, and know when to escalate any issues
- Ability to follow instructions
- Solid problem-solving skills and a positive attitude
- Good time management and organisational skills (able to prioritise)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure
- A clear understanding and awareness of safe work practices
- A good level of physical fitness
- Flexibility to work extended hours including weekends when required, during our main spraying and harvest peaks.
