About the role

We are seeking a motivated Graduate Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team in Newmarket, Auckland, on a full-time basis. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about product design who wish to advance their careers in a fast-paced, challenging, and rewarding sector.

You would be part of a project team tasked with developing ideas from concept to fully engineered products, complying with aircraft certification standards and ensuring they can be safely installed and operated on newly manufactured Boeing or Airbus aircraft. Typical engineering tasks may include design development, CAD design, drafting, production support, structural analysis, flammability compliance, and technical report writing.

Altitude Aerospace Interiors Ltd is an Auckland-based aeronautical engineering company providing interior product designs for world-leading airlines across the globe.  As part of AVIC Cabin Systems, our team has designed and engineered a broad range of interior products, including onboard bars, lounges, premium seat furnishings, galleys, and stowages, which are featured on major airlines such as Air New Zealand, Virgin Atlantic, Emirates, Singapore Airlines, Lufthansa, Qatar Airways, and many others.

About you

We are looking for someone with:

  • Bachelor of Engineering

  • An interest in product design

  • A commitment to professional standards and the development of relevant capabilities in a highly regulated industry

  • Decisive and self-starting attitude with energy and motivation to be effective in a demanding environment

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with a strong commitment to being part of a team-oriented organisation seeking continuous improvement, and able to work in an open manner

  • Appropriate rights to live and work in New Zealand
