Cedenco Foods New Zealand Ltd is a NZ food ingredients manufacturer with processing facilities in Gisborne.  Cedenco supplies domestic and international customers with a diverse range of value-added natural fruit and vegetable ingredients, including powders, pastes, purees and frozen products from locally grown crops.

We're looking for a QC Lab Supervisor & Technical Support to join our dynamic team and play a key role in ensuring our products meet the highest standards.

About the Role

In this hands-on leadership role, you'll be responsible for overseeing product testing, managing lab operations, and providing technical support across production and water treatment processes. You'll work closely with the QA Lead, production teams, and seasonal staff to drive continuous improvement and ensure compliance with food safety and health & safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

· Conduct accurate product testing and document results.

· Communicate out-of-spec results and manage the NCP system.

· Lead daily production meetings and provide solutions to bring products back into spec.

· Manage internal and external sample testing and lab equipment calibration.

· Support customer complaint investigations and train seasonal lab technicians.

· Oversee lab consumables budget and identify cost-saving opportunities.

· Maintain pest control programme and assist with document control.

· Provide technical support for water and wastewater treatment technologies.

· Ensure compliance with food safety, quality, and health & safety standards.

What You'll Bring

· Minimum 2 years' experience in the food & beverage or manufacturing industry.

· Qualification in food technology, project management, and/or mechanical engineering

· Strong computer literacy, especially in Excel, MS Office, and reporting tools.

· Proven experience in project management, budget control, and staff supervision.

· Knowledge of wastewater treatment and quality control processes.

· Excellent understanding of workplace health & safety practices.
