Job Description

We are looking to expand our team in Napier and have a vacancy for an Engineer Surveyor with experience in Pressure Equipment and/or Crane Inspections.

In this role you will carry out hands on statutory inspections, ensuring our clients comply with relevant legislation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Working with a diverse and interesting range of clients across the Hawkes Bay - no two days will be the same
  • Manage your own diary to undertake statutory and regulatory inspection of boilers, pressure vessels, lifting equipment and cranes in accordance with NZ Regulations and Standards
  • Identify and assist in developing and securing new business opportunities
  • Provide training and mentoring to trainees when qualified to do so
Qualifications
  • Certification Board for Inspection Personnel (CBIP) Qualifications in a relevant discipline is preferred
  • Certified Welding Inspection qualification
  • Degree / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent work experience
  • A full NZ drivers' licence

Knowledge and Experience

  • Experience inspecting all types of plant and equipment including pressure vessels, boilers, lifting equipment and cranes
  • A strong team player, someone who enjoys working in a friendly and supportive environment to deliver a high level of service to our clients
  • The ability to establish and maintain effective relationship with our clients and gain their trust and respect
  • Excellent time management skills with ability to organise your own diary and interact with clients.
  • The ability to write technical reports and meet reporting deadlines
