We have an exciting 2-year fixed-term opportunity for an experienced Senior Surveyor to join our high-performing team in Taranaki. With a variety of civil infrastructure projects underway, you'll play a key role in delivering accurate and reliable surveying services that ensure our projects meet quality, safety, and programme requirements.

As a senior team member, you'll lead by example - providing technical guidance, mentoring junior surveyors, and ensuring the highest standards of surveying practice are maintained across our regional projects. You'll contribute to our continued success by promoting Downer's values of collaboration, excellence, and care in everything you do.

Ngā pūkenga matua | Important Skills

We're looking for a surveyor with strong experience in New Zealand engineering and construction environments, ideally within civil infrastructure. You'll bring both technical expertise and leadership skills, with the ability to support and guide field teams to deliver great results.

Skills and experience we value:

  • A NZ Certificate, Diploma, or Bachelor of Surveying

  • Proven experience in civil construction or large-scale infrastructure projects

  • Proficiency with survey software such as 12D, Civil 3D, and Trimble Business Centre

  • Hands-on experience using Leica or Trimble Total Stations and GNSS

  • Strong leadership and mentoring capability, with a focus on safety and quality

  • Flexibility to travel to different project sites across the Taranaki region
