About Autex Acoustics:

Autex Acoustics was founded in 1967 by four British entrepreneurs from Huddersfield, Yorkshire, who ventured to New Zealand with an ambitious vision, to create something innovative and impactful—with the goal of one day bringing it back home to the UK. What began as a textile business has since evolved into a global leader in acoustic solutions, with operations across New Zealand, Australia, the United States, the United Kingdom, and Ireland. Today, that original vision has come full circle—Autex Acoustics is proudly established in the UK and Ireland, delivering sustainable, design-led acoustic products tailored for local needs.

Rooted in British innovation and shaped by global experience, Autex Acoustics creates designer products to positively transform people's experience in the built environment. We aim to maintain our position as industry leaders through continual evolution of our products and thinking; providing our clients with a considered product suite and collaborative design support service.

About the role:

As such, our London office and showroom is looking for a detail-oriented Design Consultant to join the team, and to support our continued growth.
The Autex Acoustics Design Consultant is a conduit between our clients, sales team and manufacturing teams. Through working closely with the sales and manufacturing teams, it connects our clients

with the custom design and manufacturing service. This role requires a blend of creativity with technical proficiency and market awareness, to collaborate on and develop designs that deliver aesthetic and functional solutions, whilst leveraging our in-house manufacturing capabilities. The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, as well as being adept at translating conceptual designs into production drawings for a range of manufacturing techniques.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Sales Team and Client Support - Design

  2. Work with our sales team to design, develop and specify Autex products directly into the built environment.

  3. Attend client meetings to understand the requirements of a project and provide advice on Autex products and systems.
  4. Develop client and custom designs to create aesthetic, functional and manufacturable solutions.

  5. Sales Team and Client Support – Supply and Installation

  6. Create project drawings for client sign-off.

  7. Attend site visits to offer technical support.
  8. Create technical and install drawings for custom product solutions.

  9. Manufacturing Support

  10. Create bills of materials, manufacturing files and production documentation.

  11. Provide detail and context to the manufacturing team whilst overseeing the production of custom projects.
  12. Support the manufacturing team during the creation and testing of prototypes.

  13. Product Development

  14. Prototype and develop ways to customise and get the most from the Autex products.

  15. Share knowledge and insights with the global design team.
  16. Provide market specific feedback and insights to the product development team.

Experience and Skills:
