We are looking for a Medical Receptionist who is a team player, to provide a welcoming environment for our patients, and an organised clinic for our friendly, professional team. Tamaki Hands is an established hand therapy out-patients clinic providing physiotherapy to injuries or conditions of the hand, wrist, forearm, and elbow, conveniently located in the Sylvia Park Medical Centre.

Tasks

Reception:

Provide a friendly, efficient and welcoming environment for all accessing the service whether in person, phone or email

Ensure the facility remains clean, tidy and welcoming

Accurate information is given to clients on entry about the service

Assist in timely scheduling, follow up and review of patients

Registration & collation of patient's information

Consistent, accurate billing and charging for all services

Administration support for hand therapy team

Liaise with referrers: A&M clinics, family doctors, DHBs, specialist rooms and ACC

Housekeeping:

Ordering of stock and supplies

Maintain a safe and hygienic environment

Ensure that infection control standards are met

Supervise staff cleanliness of treatment rooms

Qualifications & experience

Friendly team player who enjoys working in a diverse environment

Strong organisational and computer skills

Experience of Cliniko or other practice management systems (preferred)

Previous reception experience, ideally in a medical or allied health environment (preferred)

The ability to work well under pressure, displaying a calm, professional and reassuring manner towards our patients and staff at all times

High attention to detail & ability to multi-task: for example, switching between phone and front desk duties

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

A positive, can-do attitude and a willingness to learn
