Role Description

We are in an exciting time of growth for both of our offices particularly in our engineering teams, civil and structural. Available roles involve full-time, on-site roles for Junior through to Senior CPEng qualified Engineers. These positions can be located within either of our offices situated in Hastings (Head Office) or Palmerston North. You'll be supported by a team of experienced planners, surveyors, civil and structural engineers, and landscape architecture professionals.

Job Tasks and Responsibilities

Junior/Graduate Role:

  • Civil Focus: work on civil infrastructure and land development projects including roading, stormwater, wastewater, and water reticulation.
  • Structural Focus: work on a variety of structural design projects, including commercial, residential, industrial and community buildings.
  • Assist with design, tender documentation and pricing schedules, with mentoring and support from experienced engineers.
  • Undertake site visits and see your work through to completion.
  • Collaborate with clients, project managers and other specialists across disciplines.

Senior Role:

  • Civil Focus: Lead the design and delivery of civil infrastructure and land development projects including roading, stormwater, wastewater, and water reticulation.
  • Manage project scopes, budgets, and timelines, ensuring technical excellence and client satisfaction.
  • Provide guidance and mentoring to junior engineers and graduates.
  • Collaborate with clients, planners, project managers, and other specialists across disciplines.
  • Contribute to business development and strategic planning.

Skills and Experience

Junior/Graduate Role:

  • A Bachelor of Engineering (BE) in Civil Engineering, or near completion.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach.
  • Strong attention to detail and practical problem-solving ability.
  • Clear communication skills and a collaborative mindset.

Senior Role:

  • Produce work of a consistently high standard.
  • Have strong written, verbal and relationship skills.
  • Provide our clients with a high level of communication and a duty of care.
  • Have a positive attitude with a drive to succeed.
  • Be able to work to deadlines and organise team to deliver results needed for our clients.
