Cooks Wanted

Location: Auckland

Employment type: Full time (guaranteed 30 hours / per week, Tuesday to Sunday, Roster between the hour from 10am-10pm), permanent

We are a popular restaurant based in Auckland.

To enhance our team, we are now looking for 2 cooks to join our team. We are expecting someone who has a passion for food, attention to details, ability to multi tasks and be a proactive member of the team.

Ideal candidates should:

  • Have at least 2 years relevant work experience in the same field or industry, OR

  • Have a relevant level 4 qualification or above (equivalent overseas qualification can be accepted)

You are required to:

  • Setting up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment

  • Checking ingredients to make sure the quality and freshness

  • Preparing and cooking a variety of dishes in various utensils and grillers

  • Seasoning, portioning, adding sauces to the dish during/after cooking

  • Preparing food to meet client's taste and dietary needs

  • Storing and reserving food to the right temperature and facilities

  • Cleaning and restocking workstations and ensuring that all equipment is sanitized and prepared for the next shift.

  • Checking the cleanliness of equipment and operation of machines before each run, to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations

  • Assisting in planning menus, estimating food and labour costs

  • Assisting with training and supervising kitchen staff whenever required
