Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Chinese Cuisine Chef to join our dynamic kitchen team. This role is essential to maintaining our high culinary standards and delivering superb meals to our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, cook, and present dishes in accordance with our menu specifications.
  • Collaborate with the management team to create innovative and seasonal menu items, balancing creativity with customer preferences.
  • Maintain high standards of food hygiene and safety, ensuring compliance with health regulations.
  • Supervise and mentor kitchen staff, providing training on kitchen operations and food preparation standards.
  • Manage food inventory, order supplies, and ensure proper storage practices.
  • Create a positive and efficient kitchen environment, fostering teamwork and collaboration.
  • Monitor kitchen performance and take action to ensure consistency in quality and presentation of dishes.
  • Handle food waste management and implement cost-saving practices in kitchen operations.
  • Engage with customers for feedback on food and service, using insights to improve offerings.

Qualifications:

  • At least two years of relevant work experience as a Chinese Cuisine Chef in New Zealand.
  • Proficient in a variety of cooking techniques and cuisines.
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to manage a team effectively.
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices.
  • Excellent organizational, multitasking, and time management skills.

Work Conditions:
