Pest Control Technician

Love the outdoors? Dedicated, reliable, and ready to stay one step ahead? Rentokil Initial is looking for a hands-on, self-motivated Pest Control Technician to join our team. In this role, you'll be the first line of defence in the fight against pests, solving customer problems with expert advice and proactive service. You'll manage a portfolio of clients across the Hamilton region.
This full-time position runs from Tuesday to Saturday, from 8am-4:30pm. If you're comfortable with weekend work, apply today

Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough site inspections to identify pest activity and determine treatment plans.
- Apply pest control solutions and advise customers on prevention/management.
- Identify hygiene/environmental risks to create safer, healthier spaces.
- Accurately complete digital service reports post-visit.
- Deliver outstanding, professional customer service.
- Identify opportunities to recommend additional value-adding services.
A successful candidate will have:
- Full NZ Class 1 driver's licence with a clean driving record.
- Clean criminal record.
- Commitment to a safety-first approach and strict adherence to evolving Health & Safety procedures.
- Comfortable working independently in the field while maintaining a collaborative "one team" mentality.
- Willingness to travel long distances and stay away overnight when necessary.
- Physically strong and capable.
- Comfortable and able to work outdoors in various environmental conditions.
- A genuine appreciation for the outdoors and local environments.
- Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to maintain and expand client relationships.
- Confidence in using a mobile phone and related applications.
Desirable, but not essential:
- Experience and knowledge of pest control regulations and methods.
- New Zealand Certificate in Pest Operations - Urban Pest Control.
- Current NZ Firearm Licence.
- Ability to operate a manual vehicle.
- Experience and licences for Working at Heights and Elevated Work Platforms - EWP.
Successful candidates must complete a pre-employment assessment, including medical, reference, and criminal background checks, meeting Rentokil Initial's satisfactory criteria.
