About Gallagher
At Gallagher, we protect what matters most. From securing some of the world's highest-security environments to helping farmers manage their operations more efficiently, our technology solutions are trusted globally.
Our global headquarters and manufacturing site are based in Hamilton, New Zealand, with a people-first culture that extends across our global operations, reaching over 160 countries, and offering exciting world-class career pathways. Our manufacturing and engineering teams play a critical role in delivering high-quality, reliable products and this role is a key part of that success.
The Opportunity
We're looking for an Electronics Technician to join our Manufacturing Engineering function in Hamilton on a permanent night shift, working from 10:00pm to 7:30am, Monday to Friday.
Reporting to the Test Engineering Lead, this role exists to provide hands-on technical support to factory production during overnight operations. You'll play a critical role in keeping production moving, resolving faults, and maintaining quality while working closely with Production, Test Engineering, Production Engineering, Maintenance, and Quality teams.
This is a practical, shop-floor-based role suited to someone who enjoys working independently overnight while still being part of a wider, well-supported team.
You will:
Repair faulty electronic products during night shift operations to support production targets
Set and manage repair priorities in collaboration with factory supervisors
Diagnose faults, identify root causes, and feed findings back to production teams
Maintain accurate records using repair management software
Support Production Engineering and technical teams as required
Maintain high standards of health and safety during night operations
Keep work areas clean, organised, and compliant with 6S principles
Contribute ideas for continuous improvement across processes, quality, and efficiency
The Fit
You're comfortable working permanent night shift hours and enjoy the focus and autonomy that comes with overnight work. You're practical, solutions-focused, and take pride in delivering quality outcomes in a manufacturing environment.
Ideally, you'll bring:
NZQA qualification or Diploma in Electronics
Experience in an electronics servicing or repair environment
Previous experience working in a manufacturing or production setting
Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting capability
Clear written and verbal communication skills
A motivated, reliable approach with a strong focus on quality
A collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively with a range of stakeholders
Why Gallagher?
Joining Gallagher means joining a global technology and manufacturing leader that invests in its people and supports long-term career development.
What we offer:
A supportive, professional environment where you can build a lasting career
Opportunities for growth and cross-functional learning across Plastics, Tooling, and Engineering
Competitive pay, KiwiSaver contributions, and annual bonuses
Free on-site parking, a subsidised café, and great local eateries
A fun, collaborative team culture with regular events and learning opportunities
Apply now to join a world-class manufacturing team - this is a permanent night shift role, so please apply only if these hours suit you.
We'll be taking a short break over the holidays but welcome your applications now and will begin reviewing them in early January. Wishing you a very Merry Christmas
