Are you a compassionate Enrolled Nurse with a heart for palliative care? Do you thrive in a supportive, respectful environment where your skills make a meaningful difference every day?
We are delighted to introduce a new opportunity within our Inpatient Unit (IPU) nursing team — a role designed to make a genuine difference in the lives of patients and provide essential support to their families and whānau.
This part-time position (am and pm shifts only) offers the chance to deliver compassionate, personalised care to individuals living with life-limiting conditions. We are seeking a dedicated Enrolled Nurse who is passionate about palliative care and committed to working collaboratively within a supportive, values-driven team.
Who we are / Ko wai mātou
At North Haven Hospice we work collaboratively with other services to develop an understanding of, and to practice, quality supportive care in our community for those with a terminal illness or life-limiting condition.
Our mission embraces kindness, personalised, and specialised end-of-life care, respecting individual choices. Whether you are a patient, a family member, or a dedicated staff member, we care about you. We invite you to join our team and contribute to funding the diverse journey of care we provide to those who need it most.
Nature of the role / te āhuatanga o te tūranga
You will be working within a supportive, values driven team who are passionate about palliative care. In this role you will:
- Practice safely and professionally, guided by clinical, cultural, ethical, and legislative standards in palliative care nursing.
- Deliver thoughtful, effective care to individuals with complex needs, ensuring dignity and comfort at every stage.
- Build therapeutic relationships through kind, clear communication with patients, families, whānau, and our interdisciplinary team.
- Contribute to quality improvement, helping us continuously enhance the delivery of specialist palliative care.
- Uphold core organisational responsibilities, supporting a culture of excellence, safety, and compassion.
What you will bring / ngā pūkenga mō tēnei tūranga
To be considered for this role, you will need to be a New Zealand Registered Enrolled Nurse with a minimum of 2 years' experience, and current Annual Practising Certificate (APC).
But we are also looking for that extra something special — someone who:
- Has experience or a genuine interest in palliative care
- Communicates with warmth, clarity, and professionalism
- Thrives in a collaborative team environment
- Brings a caring, compassionate approach to every interaction
What we offer/ ka taea e mātou te tuku
- A nurturing, inclusive team environment
- Opportunities for professional growth and development
- A workplace where your voice and care truly matter
If you are ready to bring your empathy, expertise, and energy to a place where every moment counts, we would love to hear from you. Applications close on Monday, 17 November 2025
