At Griffin's Snacks we're proud of our heritage and being New Zealand's largest snack food company, producing a large range of iconic and much-loved kiwi brands - many of which have been known and loved for generations.
As our business moves to adopt the global continuous improvement/standardised processes of Integrated Work Systems (IWS) we have local teams focusing on introducing and supporting tools on specific lines. Our Papakura manufacturing site is currently recruiting for an IWS Maintenance Lead to use technical knowledge, data and IWS tools to eliminate breakdown related losses through root causing and embedding counter measures.
We're looking for someone with solid engineering/electrical experience who is keen to continue to further develop their existing knowledge and skillset by leading the maintenance side of all things IWS This permanent, waged role will be predominantly working the day shift but will require flexibility to support across all three shifts at the Papakura plant.
What you'll be responsible for:
- Identifying, planning and implementing productivity initiatives and projects to effectively reduce downtime and improve OE and plant optimisation
- Jointly responsible for motivating, guiding and supporting the training and qualification of operators and equipment owners in technical skills e.g. Equipment Ownership Roadmap
- Supporting the operations teams with fixing major breakdowns
- Reviewing and prioritizing any reported incidents/stops of the last 24 hours, planning the maintenance and repair work for the next 24 hours and completing during scheduled downtime
- Co-owning the repair budgets for the area in collaboration with the Line Lead & Engineering/Technical Manager
- Ensuring all overdue work orders are updated, classified and processed according to meet the urgency and priority (in conjunction with Maintenance Planner where applicable)
- Preparing and leading the scheduling of the maintenance work for the next week
- Actively participating in the preparation of the 90-day-loss elimination plan with technical expertise
What you'll bring to the role?
- You'll be a trade qualified fitter
- 2+ years of proven experience working in a food manufacturing environment
- Proven experience working with computerised maintenance management systems
- Excellent communications skills – you are great at keeping everyone in the loop
- A love of teamwork – you enjoy working with others and are always willing to lend a hand when needed
- Positivity and a solutions-focused approach- nothing is ever a problem
- Initiative and ability to self-motivate and work unsupervised
- Commitment to health and safety and ensuring that best practises are followed in the workplace
- Eagerness to grow your career with us – you are keen to learn and open to new ideas
What can you expect in return? A supportive working environment (with plenty of snacks on hand) where you'll feel engaged and valued, career growth and mentoring opportunities and a focus on health and wellness to make your workplace more enjoyable
