What you'd be doing in this role
As Canva scales change continues to be part of our DNA. But we like to think that's all part of the fun. So this will give you the flavour of the type of things you'll be working on when you start, but this will likely evolve.

At The Moment, This Role Is Focused On

• Leading and coaching a cross-functional engineering team behind Canva's Workday Platform
• Defining the technical strategy, architecture and delivery cadence across Workday systems
• Partnering with leaders in People, Finance, Security and Audit to deliver secure, scalable solutions
• Overseeing solution architecture, integration governance, testing and release workflows
• Owning Workday integrations and driving platform-wide engineering excellence
• Elevating service reliability, documentation, observability and overall quality
• Building a trusted, inclusive team culture with strong craft and shared outcomes

You're probably a match if

• You have extensive experience leading cross-functional technical teams in systems/platform engineering
• You have deep, hands-on Workday experience including architecture, integrations and delivery cycles
• You've worked in regulated environments (SOX, ITGC, Payroll, Audit) and can confidently navigate complexity
• You're experienced with Workday integration tooling such as Studio, EIB and with API/event-driven architecture
• You're a clear communicator who bridges technical and business perspectives with ease
• You've built high-trust cultures where people are empowered, accountable, and growing fast
• You're excited to shape the future of business-critical platforms at scale

About The Team
This role sits within the IT Supergroup, whose mission is to maximise the potential of every Canvanaut through world-class technology and service. Within it, the Business Platform Group powers Canva's core business operations — spanning our finance, people and legal systems. At the heart of this is the Workday Platform Team, who plays a critical role in enabling Canva's business operations. They own the technical architecture, integrations, controls and delivery of our Workday platform. Today, Workday supports key people functions like HCM, absence and (soon) payroll — with exciting opportunities ahead. You'll be leading a team critical to Canva's internal scale and employee experience.
