As part of the Picton Food Cartel group, we're passionate about people, quality, and community – and we're looking for experienced Chefs / Cooks to join our positive, professional kitchen team.

About the role:
  • Prepare, cook, and present dishes from our seasonal, locally inspired menu
  • Support the Head Chef with daily kitchen operations
  • Maintain food safety, hygiene, and cleaning standards
  • Assist with ordering, stock management, and minimising wastage
  • Contribute ideas for menu development and service improvements
  • Help create a friendly, collaborative, and motivated kitchen culture

About you:
  • At least 2 years' experience in a commercial kitchen (restaurant, bistro, or café)
  • Culinary qualification (e.g. NZ Cookery Certificate or Diploma) preferred but not essential
  • Sound understanding of food safety, hygiene, and compliance standards
  • Calm under pressure with strong attention to detail
  • A genuine team player who enjoys working in a supportive environment
  • Passion for fresh, local ingredients and seasonal cooking
  • Daytime shifts, including weekends and occasional events
Benefits:
