Lead AV Programmer – Audio Visual / Technology Integration
TenFour | Full time | New Zealand (remote-friendly for Australia-based candidates)
- Lead AV programming across cutting-edge integration projects
- Work with Crestron, Poly, Q-Sys, Biamp, Shure, lighting, automation, and more
- Flexible work environment | Supportive team culture | Career growth
Shape the Future of AV Integration:
At TenFour, we deliver high-performance AV and technology solutions that help our clients connect, collaborate, and thrive. We're looking for a Lead AV Programmer to join our team—someone who's passionate about control systems, thrives on complex integrations, and enjoys setting the standard for quality.
This is a full-time role based in New Zealand, with flexibility for remote work (and open to Australia-based applicants).
About the Role:
As Lead AV Programmer, you'll be the technical authority for programming within TenFour. You'll design, develop, test, and deploy high-quality control system code—ensuring seamless integration across AV, conferencing, lighting, and automation systems.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Programming & Development – Design and maintain Crestron-based systems (SIMPL, SIMPL+, AV Framework, VC-4) and integrate third-party platforms.
- Delivery – Collaborate with designers, engineers, and PMs to scope logic, support commissioning, and ensure smooth handovers.
- Quality & Standards – Apply structured testing, version control, and documentation, while building reusable templates and libraries.
- Collaboration & Leadership – Mentor junior staff, contribute to knowledge sharing, and stay ahead of industry best practice.
About You:
You're an experienced AV programmer who enjoys solving problems and creating user-friendly, future-proofed systems. You'll bring curiosity, resilience under pressure, and a proactive approach to learning. This is not a junior role—you'll step in and take ownership from day one.
Essential:
- Proven expertise in Crestron programming (SIMPL, SIMPL+, AV Framework, VC-4).
- Proficiency with Crestron Control and DM NVX.
- Strong grasp of IP configuration, signal flow, and networked AV.
- Experience integrating third-party systems (Poly, Q-Sys, Biamp, Shure, lighting, blinds, etc.).
- Strong troubleshooting and communication skills.
Desirable:
- Familiarity with other control platforms (Q-Sys, Extron, AMX).
- Programming experience in C#, Lua, SIMPL+, or HTML5 UI development.
- Use of version control tools and scripting (Crestron EDK, PowerShell).
- Prior mentoring or leadership experience.
What Success Looks Like:
- You're a team player – engaged, personable, and proactive.
- You don't just deliver the basics—you're curious, forward-thinking, and contribute ideas.
- You're confident with multiple brands and platforms, and calm under pressure.
- You thrive on AV over IP projects, enjoy problem-solving, and have a drive to keep learning—even in your own time.
Location & Flexibility:
This role can be based out of our Auckland, Wellington or Auckland offices.
- We're open to remote candidates located anywhere in New Zealand, provided they can travel for key projects or team activities
- Exceptional applicants based in Australia will also be considered.
Why TenFour?
We're a small, people-first business where your expertise and ideas will make a real impact. You'll join a supportive team environment, with flexibility in how and where you work.
At TenFour, we don't just deliver AV projects—we create intuitive, reliable systems that shape the way people connect. If you want to take ownership of your craft and lead in a team that values quality, we'd love to hear from you.
Ready to Apply?
Click 'Apply Now' and submit your CV and cover letter.
Applications close 5pm, Monday 3rd November 2025. We'll be reviewing applications as they come in, so don't wait
