Future Energy is a leader in sustainable energy solutions for residential and commercial clients across New Zealand. Our dedicated in-house team specialises in designing and installing solar energy systems, EV charging stations, hot water heat pumps, and air conditioning and ventilation systems.

We're currently delivering some of Auckland's most exciting commercial solar projects

What you will be doing:

This role is 50% on-site, 50% planning and coordination. You'll be managing the technical side of installations across multiple commercial sites simultaneously - ensuring teams have the materials they need, everything gets installed to spec, and all work meets our quality standards and safety requirements.

Your day-to-day will include:

  • Leading installation teams on commercial sites across Auckland - you're the go-to person making it all happen
  • Conducting pre-inspections and site visits to scope jobs properly before teams arrive
  • Presenting Records of Inspection at the end of each day and signing off on completed work
  • Managing daily site trips and coordinating across multiple active projects
  • Project managing commercial installations to ensure they're delivered on budget and on time
  • Training and mentoring installation teams - onboarding new members and upskilling existing crew
  • Quality auditing work to maintain our standards and "The Future Way" of doing things
  • Working with the Project Manager to coordinate resources and schedules efficiently
  • Managing high-level customer service issues when technical expertise is needed on site

This isn't a desk job. No two days are the same, and you'll need to be flexible, get stuck in, and make things work when commercial installs throw inevitable curveballs. But you'll be backed by an awesome bunch of tradies and have direct access to directors who can make decisions quickly when you need them.

What we are looking for:

Let's be straight - this role isn't for everyone. You need to be someone who can lead a team through commercial installs while keeping quality high and everyone safe. We're looking for an electrician who's already proven they can manage people and projects, not someone learning to lead for the first time.

THE NON-NEGOTIABLES:

  • You're a qualified electrician with at least 10 years' experience in the field
  • You have your solar endorsement (this is critical for the work we do)
  • You hold an inspector qualification
  • You've actually led installation teams before - managed people, coordinated work, dealt with the inevitable site dramas
  • You have a full NZ driver's license and Site Safe license
  • You have your own tools
