Mō te tūnga – About the role:

This is an ideal opportunity for a recent HR graduate or someone early in their HR/recruitment journey who wants to grow their skills while contributing to kaupapa that matter.

As the HR Administrator, you'll help keep everything running smoothly for staff across the motu. Your role will support frontline teams working directly with Māori and Pasifika individuals and whānau, so cultural competence, empathy and a genuine passion for helping people succeed will be key.

You'll take responsibility for accurate HR records, rosters, onboarding and day-to-day coordination. 

Key details include:

  • Based onsite on Great South Road, Ellerslie
  • Monday to Friday, 8:30am–5:00pm
  • 3-month assignment (ASAP start) with potential for extension or permanent opportunities
  • $30 per hour + 8% holiday pay

Day-to-day may look like:

  • Preparing, updating and maintaining HR records and employment documents
  • Checking licences, police checks, and essential qualifications
  • Creating rosters for Support Workers, Social Housing and Transitional Housing teams
  • Supporting onboarding and ensuring new starters feel welcomed and set up for success
  • Handling confidential information with care, respect and discretion
  • Providing general HR administration to keep the team running smoothly

You may be a recent HR grad, or someone with some HR or recruitment experience ready for the next step. What matters most is your heart for people and your ability to work in a way that upholds mana, respect and cultural understanding.

You will bring:

  • HR Administrator/Coordinator experience OR HR-related study with an HR internship etc.
  • A natural ability to engage with Māori and Pasifika kaimahi and communities with cultural awareness
  • Confidence using Te Reo Māori greetings and place names in everyday interactions
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • NZ Citizen or Permanent Resident status
