We are a well-established law firm with a strong client base and a commitment to delivering professional, responsive service. Following recent staffing changes, we are seeking an experienced and capable Practice Manager / Office Manager to oversee the smooth day-to-day operation of our Takanini practice.

This role will suit a professional with strong organisational and administrative skills, attention to detail, and the ability to balance competing priorities. The position combines office management, financial administration, and executive support to the firm's director.

Key responsibilities

  • Managing the daily operations of the office and ensuring efficient administrative processes.
  • Providing high-level secretarial and administrative support to the directors.
  • Undertaking reception duties, including client liaison and coordination of appointments.
  • Managing the firm's practice management software (OneLaw), including processing and reconciling payments.
  • Assisting with compliance, trust accounting, and other financial tasks as required.
  • Maintaining accurate records and supporting internal reporting requirements.
  • Coordinating with external suppliers, service providers, and professional advisers.

Skills and experience

  • Proven experience in an office management, legal executive, or senior administrative role within a professional services environment.
  • Strong computer literacy and familiarity with practice or business management software (experience with OneLaw advantageous but not essential).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Sound organisational and time management abilities with meticulous attention to detail.
  • A proactive, professional, and discreet approach to all aspects of work.
  • The ability and willingness to learn new systems and processes.
