About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and proactive Transport Operations Manager to oversee the daily transport operations, coordinate our drivers and fleet, and ensure timely and cost-effective delivery to our clients. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, supervising, and optimising all aspects of transport performance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan, organise and oversee the company's daily transport operations.
  • Supervise and manage truck drivers, allocate vehicles, and monitor performance.
  • Coordinate delivery schedules, route planning, and driver rosters.
  • Ensure compliance with New Zealand transport laws, safety regulations, and company policies.
  • Monitor vehicle maintenance schedules and liaise with mechanics and service providers.
  • Prepare and analyse transport operation reports and KPIs for management review.
  • Manage fuel usage, cost efficiency, and operational budgets.
  • Maintain effective communication with clients, ensuring service delivery meets expectations.
  • Recruit, train, and support new drivers and staff as required.
Skills and Experience Required:
  • Minimum 2years' experiencein transport operations or logistics management.
  • Sound knowledge of NZ transport regulations, road safety compliance, and driver logbook requirements.
  • Excellent organisational, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple priorities.
  • A valid NZ Class 4 or 5 driver licence is an advantage.
  • A clear criminal history and pass the drug test.
