Senior Architectural Designer

Rosedale, New Zealand Recognition Full time

My Client is a bespoke Architectural Design company based 5 minutes from Mairangi Bay adjacent to the Constellation drive park and ride.

They are looking for a Senior Architectural Designer who thrives on solving real-world construction challenges, partnering closely with builders, and delivering designs that get built?

Are you ambitious, hungry to grow, and determined to be part of a team shaping the landscape of construction collaboration.

They are scaling — and now looking for an A-Player who wants more than a job.

You want ownership, impact, and the opportunity to help build an organisation building repeat business, reliability, and construction collaboration.

Why This Role Is Different

We partner directly with builders and their clients, producing design solutions that are functional, cost-effective, and buildable. Our clients come back because we make their lives easier — and you'll be right at the centre of that promise.

This is your chance to:

  • Shape the future of a soon to be growing architectural design practice.
  • Work with a consistent pipeline of builder-led projects.
  • Influence technical direction, standards, and excellence.
  • Step into a team that values autonomy, ownership, and results.
  • Be part of building a business — not just delivering drawings.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Leading a design team across residential renovations, reclads, light commercial and bespoke architectural projects
  • Managing the team & delivering concept → developed design → detailed documentation with precision and efficiency
  • Working closely with builders to solve issues early and streamline design-to-construction workflow
  • Coordinating with engineers, planners, and consultants to produce compliance-ready documentation
  • Mentoring staff and lifting technical capability across the team
  • Owning deadlines, communication, and client confidence throughout each project

You're the Right Fit If You:

  • Are an A-Player — driven, accountable, proactive, and results-focused
  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment with diverse technical challenges
  • Understand what builders value and can translate it into practical, buildable solutions
  • Communicate clearly and confidently with clients and consultants
  • Are hungry to grow into leadership, operations influence, or technical mastery
  • Care deeply about quality, accuracy, and delivering work that stands up to scrutiny

What You Bring:

  • 6 – 10+ years architectural design experience in NZ; physically in the country
  • Design level 1 or 2 LBP - essential
  • A very strong understanding of NZ Building Code, council processes & compliance pathways
  • Proven track record delivering high-quality documentation in Revit.
  • Ability to lead project teams independently and solve problems under pressure
  • A mindset of ownership — you don't wait to be told, you drive outcomes

Why Join our business?

  • Be part of an ambitious business focused on strong growth in the next 10 years.
  • Competitive salary + performance pathway for top performers
  • A leadership team that values excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement
  • A supportive culture where A-Players thrive and average performers don't last.
  • Real opportunity to influence how the practice grows and evolves
  • Work that is meaningful, fast-moving, and genuinely client-impacting

If you want to become a cornerstone member of a team built on values, trust, technical excellence, and repeat business partnerships — this is your opportunity.
