Junior Quantity Surveyor

Metalhartt Roofing is a family-owned roofing company based in Rosedale, Auckland. Established in 2016, the team specialises in long-run iron roofing for both residential and commercial projects. With continued growth and award-winning results, they're now looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Quantity Surveyor to join their expanding team.

This part-time role (between 20-30 hours per week) is perfect for someone at the early stages of their QS career who's eager to learn, develop technical skills, and grow within a supportive environment.

• Assisting with estimates, cost plans, and tender documentation.
• Measuring and pricing construction work using standard methods.
• Supporting cost analysis, record-keeping, and reporting for ongoing and completed projects.
• Conducting site visits to assess progress and verify quantities.
• Helping maintain accurate project documentation and cost reports.
• Undertaking training and professional development to advance toward a senior QS role.
• Providing general administrative and project support as needed.

• 6–12 months' experience reading and interpreting architectural plans.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills, with a focus on accuracy and detail.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word); SimPro experience is an advantage.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Organised, proactive, and eager to learn.
• A tertiary qualification in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management is advantageous
• Experience with cladding and finishing trades is advantageous.
