Join our team as a Clinical Nurse Consultant - SAFE and make a meaningful difference in the care and assessment of clients who have experienced sexual assault and/or family violence, delivering critical response services and engaging in prevention focussed initiatives. This permanent, part-time role offers the chance to lead clinical excellence while supporting vulnerable clients and families during critical moments.
Working within our department, you'll provide specialist clinical leadership in sexual assault and/or family violence identification, risk assessment, safety planning and examination. Your expertise will guide multidisciplinary teams and strengthen our hospital's capacity to respond effectively and respectfully to clients who have experienced sexual assault and/or family violence.

What You'll Do
- Provide clinical consultation and case coordination for complex sexual assault and/or family violence situations
- Deliver education and training to healthcare staff on trauma-informed care approaches and sexual assault and/or family violence services and processes for the North West
- Develop, implement and maintain evidence-based policies and procedures
- Collaborate with community partners, police, child protection services and statewide SAFE services
- Lead quality improvement initiatives and data collection activities
- Mentor and supervise nursing, midwifery and/or medical staff in sexual assault and/or family violence response practices
- Participate in an on-call roster as and when required
What We're Looking For
- Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse
- Postgraduate qualifications in a relevant field preferred
- Demonstrated experience in sexual assault and/or family violence and/or mental health, or emergency care settings
- Strong communication skills and ability to work autonomously and with diverse communities
- Understanding of trauma-informed care principles and safety planning
- Commitment to professional development and evidence-based practice

Details of appointment:
Permanent, part time, day worker (with on call) position, working up to 45.6 hours per fortnight, commencing from as soon as you can join us. *notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.
Salary: $114,851 to $121,886 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
- Salary range is in accordance withNurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.
In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:
- Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10 % based on qualification type

Eligibility:

- Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse
