Job Summary

Provide leadership and management for all operational departments. Coordinate and manage the day to day operations of the hotel.  Assume responsibility of the Managing Director his absence. Oversees supervision of Food & Beverage division (Restaurant, Bar, Event Operations, In-Room Dining, Culinary, and Stewarding), Rooms departments (Front of House, Housekeeping and Spa), and Engineering.

Provide support to all associates and managers to achieve goals in line with the company's vision. To maintain and continue to develop efficient systems and services to support the smooth running of all departments and highest satisfaction level of both our associates and guests.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

General :

  • Drive the guest experience through the associate, product and service culture.
  • Strategize and execute capital improvements.
  • Connect with associates in a genuine and caring way.
  • Be an inclusive leader with the ability to work and support a diverse workforce and celebrate the differences.
  • Lead the hotel to a top market product that is ever improving
  • Build engagement with associates, guests and third party companies, as well as suppliers.
  • Keep abreast of the newest trends and innovations in the hospitality industry

  • Generally being alert for opportunities to improve the profitability of the hotel i.e. through controlling wastage and being responsible for the economy of all utilities and resources.

  • Take a proactive approach to administration, coordination of activities,
     
    anticipating potential opportunities.
  • Maintain effective communication within the operational divisions as well as the administrative divisions of the hotel.
  • Liaise with other departments to ensure good communication and offer support.
  • Supports the hotel operation in times of demand.

Associate and Guest Focus:

  • Developer of people.  Not afraid to give feedback to bring out the best in them.
  • Ability to bring a group together with positivity, collaboration, honesty and support.
  • Ability to attract and retain top talent. Focus and support of mid-management development.

  • Be visible and supportive on the floor of the front of the house as well as the heart of the house
  • Ability to drive the execution of the exceptional guest experience with an empathetic approach.

Recruitment Focus:

  • Assist T&C with recruitment of all positions in the Operation, up to and including leadership roles.
  • If needed participate in Career Fairs and other events representing Rosewood Kauri Cliffs.

Product Focus:

  • Passion for innovation and strong eye for detail to maintain competitive edge
  • Establish strong relationships with repeat guests, travel agents, VIPs and community leaders.
  • Strong engineering understanding ensuring the product is maintained at the highest level.
  • A problem solver that can get to the root cause to implement proper short & long-term solutions.
  • Ability to improve guest experience scores through associate engagement and standards consistency.

Profit and Budget Focus:

  • Works closely with all departments to drive top line revenues and manage profit margins.
  • Help Managing Director to manage relationship with various stakeholders including the owners.
  • Must have the ability to react and respond to business fluctuations quickly and appropriately (expense controls).
