Auckland, Auckland, New Zealand Anglican Trust for Women and Children Full time

The Anglican Trust for Women and Children is a major Auckland family charity and one of the city's oldest.

We have been helping mothers, children and whānau since 1858 and are here for the long haul. Through our family services, early education services and social work services we are committed to investing in Auckland's children and building them the happy, healthy future they deserve.

Mō te tūnga | About the role

The key purpose for role: The Kaiārahi Attendance Services (AS) provides strong, compassionate leadership to our Kaimanaaki team, who work closely with chronically absent and non-enrolled tamariki and taiohi to support their re-engagement in education through personalised, whānau-centred approaches.

In this role, the Kaiārahi will lead and mentor a team of Kaimanaaki, supporting schools and whānau to help students return to consistent learning. Day-to-day, the Kaiārahi will guide their team in working with ākonga from primary through to secondary school, identifying barriers to regular attendance and developing meaningful solutions in partnership with whānau. They will empower Kaimanaaki to coordinate tailored plans that ensure tamariki and their whānau have the support they need to confidently return to education.

Building strong, positive relationships is central to this role. The Kaiārahi will work closely with school staff to promote improved attendance outcomes aligned with each school's Attendance Plan, while also strengthening connections with local and government agencies to ensure ākonga and whānau are supported holistically.

The Kaiārahi will collaborate with the Practice Manager, Attendance Services, to ensure all contractual obligations are met on time and in line with funder expectations.

Covering kura/schools based in the Glendowie Selwyn and Tāmaki area, this role is based locally at ATWC's Tamaki office, central to our contracted schools. This location will promote visibility, easy access and foster collaboration with students, whānau, school and wider community.
