New World Mt Albert is an established and growing team with ambitions to continue expanding our offer and delivering the very best for our community.

We're now looking for an experienced Butcher to join our team and help deliver top-quality products, including our growing range of premium in-store made sausages and value-added meats.

About the Role – Butcher

You'll be responsible for producing a wide range of fresh meat products to a high standard, ensuring our butchery department is full, fresh, and appealing throughout the day.

This role has a particular focus on creating and developing our in-store made sausages, kebabs, marinated cuts, and other ready-to-cook offerings, crafted with care and consistency.

In this role, you will:

  • Prepare, cut, and display beef, lamb, pork, and poultry products to meet customer and food safety expectations.
  • Take pride in producing premium in-store made sausages and other value-added lines, maintaining consistent quality and flavour.
  • Maintain a clean and organised workspace, following all food safety and health & safety procedures.
  • Ensure all products are correctly trayed, wrapped, and labelled.
  • Assist with stock control, rotation, and waste minimisation.
  • Deliver great customer service and product knowledge to shoppers.
  • Work as part of a team to meet daily production targets and presentation standards.
What We're Looking For:
  • A butcher with at least 3 years' relevant experience or an NZQF Level 4 butchery qualification.
  • Strong food safety and hygiene knowledge.
  • Proven ability in sausage making or value-added meat production (preferred).
  • A passion for delivering quality, innovation, and consistency.
  • Reliability, motivation, and the ability to work well in a team.
  • Excellent attention to detail and customer service skills.
