As our demand continues to grow, we’re looking for five dedicated and hardworking Butchers to join our Auckland team. Mō te tūranga mahi | About the role As a butcher, you will be part of a fast-paced team and assist in providing high-quality meat cuts. You will be a confident Butcher, matching qualification and/or experience is beneficial. Key Details: Position:  Permanent, Full-Time Pay rate: $28 to $30 per hour Location:  Ihumatao Road, Mangere, Auckland Shift Timings:  4:00 am to 12:30 pm, Monday to Friday Key Responsibilities: Cut meat to separate muscle, fat and tissue from around the bones. Cut specialised cuts, deboning and trimming of various meat types. Wrapping and packing of meat cuts and products. Move carcasses to boning table for preparation and work on machinery for processing. Pack processed stock into cartons for storage. Ensure that the stock is labelled correctly and packed as per Operational SOPs. Check to ensure all meat is stored properly and that stock is rotated. Maintain high standards of Food safety, Quality, and Health and Safety at all times. Mōu | About you Our ideal candidate will be self-motivated and passionate about their craft. You should be physically fit, able to work in a fast-paced environment, and committed to delivering quality results. The successful applicant will have the following attributes: A Trade qualification or relevant butchery experience is beneficial. Skill and experience in cutting meat and preparing standard meat cuts. Proven skills in Beef Boning or Slicing. Around 2-3 years of hands-on experience as a Butcher. Evidence of a referenced, stable work history. Be physically fit and able to lift/move heavy items. A proven commitment to Safety & Wellbeing and Food Safety in the workplace.
