About the role

Are you an experienced restaurant manager looking to lead a dynamic team? The Anchor Restaurant and Bar in Nelson by the Marina, is seeking a full-time Restaurant Manager to oversee all aspects of our busy establishment. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for ensuring exceptional customer service, efficient operations, and a positive work culture.

What you'll be doing

  • Plan, oversee and direct the operation of a restaurant.
  • Ensure the efficient management of the restaurant and maintain food service standards
  • Lead, motivate, and develop a Front of House team
  • Manage day-to-day operations including scheduling and inventory control
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and licensing regulations
  • Foster a positive, customer-centric work environment and resolve any guest complaints or issues
  • Maintain the profitable business performance of the restaurant.
  • Collaborate with the owners to drive continuous improvement and achieve business goals.

What we're looking for

  • Experience as a Restaurant Manager or in a similar leadership role
  • Minimum of 3 years' relevant experience OR a relevant Bachelors' Degree in business or hospitality management
  • Proven track record of successfully managing restaurant operations
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively lead and motivate a team
  • Excellent customer service orientation and problem-solving abilities
  • Thorough understanding of food safety, liquor licensing, and other relevant regulations
  • Ideally proficient in using Tevalis systems and restaurant management software
  • Passion for the hospitality industry and a commitment to delivering an exceptional dining experience
  • You must possess the skills necessary to run the business independently as the owners are not present and working in the business themselves
