Waitākere College are seeking passionate Premier Sporting Coaches to lead, develop, and inspire student-athletes in our premier sports teams. As a Premier Sport Coach, you will be responsible for coaching, mentoring, and supporting students to achieve their best in both competitive and personal development contexts.
We are currently welcoming applications for passionate and knowledgeable coaches for the following teams
- Netball - Head of Performance & Pathways
- 1st XI Boys Football
- 1st XV Rugby
- Basketball (team to be confirmed).
Netball - Head of Performance & Pathways
We are looking for a dynamic and passionate netball coach to lead and coach netball at Waitākere College.
Requirements:
- Have experience in club/representative netball.
- Passion and willingness to nurture the growth of netball at Waitākere College including our premier teams, junior teams and netball academy.
- Create elite pathway between Year 9 and Premier Teams
- Work collaboratively with coaches to ensure a consistent and successful player development pathway from Year 9 through to the Premier teams.
- Able to attend UNISS Tournament in Hamilton (30th August – 4th September) as needed
- Attend Professional Development and help upskill coaches at Waitākere College
This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a strong netball programme in West Auckland, with great potential to develop talented young players who compete in local premier competitions as well as UNISS A grade.
All Positions Qualifications and Skills:
Essential:
- A passion for developing young people and creating a positive, inclusive team culture.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to motivate and engage young athletes.
- Coaching/management experience of knowledge of sporting code applying for
- Full, Clean NZ Drivers Licence
Desirable:
- Coaching qualifications (e.g., Level 1 or higher certification in your sport).
- Previous experience coaching at a school or club level.
- Knowledge of current trends within sporting code
- First Aid and CPR certification (preferred).
Working Hours:
- Most of these roles will require two school terms of commitment. Training sessions generally take place before or after school hours with matches on weekends.
Additional Information:
- You will receive full support from the school's sports department who will provide all apparel and equipment resources required for the season.
- As per Ministry of Education regulations you will be required to undergo a Police Check
- Full, clean NZ Drivers Licence
- Must already be able to work in New Zealand on a permanent basis without the requirement for sponsorship or a job offer.
Remuneration:
This is a fixed fee paid position which could cover reimbursement of expenses and incidental costs incurred that are associated with coaching at any training and/or games and all travel costs associated with attending practices and games throughout the season.
