Harker Herbals is a well-known and highly respected NZ manufacturer of liquid herbal supplements, made right here in Hawkes Bay. Reporting to the Production Operations Manager, this role will see you overseeing the production team of nine, and the function and form of activities ranging from dispensing to labelling. Your role is to ensure production plans, productivity and efficiency targets are met while driving a culture of continuous improvement, and having an eye and ear for enhancing performance across their plant and machinery.

The crew here across this site are focused and well across their roles; your job will be to take your team to the next level of performance. Your responsibilities will span day-to-day processing and production, ensuring strict standard operating procedures (SOPs) and standards of supplement processing, hygiene, and safety protocols are maintained to ensure top quality products are produced for their customers. You will ensure effective resource allocation and planning, continued efficiency gains, and development and growth for your staff.

You will thrive in this hands-on production leadership role. You will spend most of the day on the floor with your team. You will need expertise spanning manufacturing, production and staff supervision. Relatability to quality control, knowledge of GMP and manufacturing best practices will see you right at home here.

This well-funded, privately owned business is in an exciting phase, and 2026 will see them posed for growth. They need a hands-on leader who can help achieve their output targets as they continue to grow domestically and penetrate new export market abroad.

Exposure to pharmaceutical or herbal manufacturing would be highly regarded, although not essential. Either way, you must be a natural people leader who enjoys being across the floor each and every day; driving efficiency, problem solving, and ensuring optimisation across all aspects of the site.
