What you'll be doing

• Manage the day-to-day operations of the produce department, including inventory management, product ordering, and display presentation
• Oversee a small team providing training, coaching, and performance management
• Develop and implement strategies to drive sales and profitability in the produce department
• Ensure compliance with all food safety and regulatory requirements
• Foster strong relationships with suppliers to secure the best quality products and pricing
• Analyse sales data and market trends to make informed decisions about product assortment and merchandising
• Collaborate with the store management team to contribute to the overall success of the business

What we're looking for

• Minimum 3 years of experience in a produce management or supervisory role, preferably in a retail environment
• Proven track record of leading a team and driving operational excellence
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with customers, team members, and suppliers
• Passion for the produce industry and a commitment to providing an exceptional customer experience
• Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices in the produce industry
