The role

We're looking for an experienced Transport & Logistics Underwriter to join our team. This is a rare opportunity to combine technical underwriting expertise with strategic thinking and market engagement, specialising in the transport sector. In this role, you'll be developing tailored insurance solutions, build strong broker relationships, and provide expert underwriting services across multiple lines. 

Responsibilities

As a Transport & Logistics Underwriter, you will:

  • Underwriting new business, renewals, adjustments, and referrals across motor, property, liability, and marine
  • Reviewing insurance applications and conducting risk assessments
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with brokers, clients, and internal teams
  • Representing Ando at industry conferences and networking events
  • Analysing claims data to identify trends and inform underwriting decisions

Qualifications and experience

We're looking for someone with:

  • General insurance experience across multiple lines, ideally with exposure to transport and logistics.
  • Strong understanding of underwriting principles and the ability to communicate them clearly
  • A customer-first mindset with proven success in broker and client engagement
  • Relevant industry qualifications (e.g. ANZIIF Cert/Dip) are a plus
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills, with a sharp eye for detail
  • Integrity, enthusiasm, and a collaborative approach that reflects Ando's values
