We're looking for an experiencedLogistics / Dispatch Team Leader to take charge of our afternoon dispatch, delivery, and logistics operations in our busy glass manufacturing plant. You'll play a key role in ensuring our finished glass products are delivered to customers safely, on time, and in full — every time.

This is a hands-on leadership role where your ability to plan, coordinate, and motivate others will make all the difference.

Based at our site in Hornby, Christchurch this role is essential to act as the primary point of contact between Customer Service and Dispatch for deliveries to Metro Branches and regional customers. The role leads the PM (afternoon) loading team to ensure DIFOTIS (delivery in full, on time, in spec) is achieved.

Key responsibilities include ensuring glass products are loaded and secured safely, in accordance with the load / delivery plan and at an acceptable rate. The role also provides support to the Dispatch Supervisor and Warehouse & Logisitcs Manager in identifying opportunities to improve the way Dispatch operates and improves service to customers.

What You'll Do

• Lead and oversee all logistics, dispatch, and delivery activities to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and quality standards are met.
• Build and develop a capable logistics team through coaching, mentoring, and daily engagement.
• Monitor workflow and performance to drive accountability and continuous improvement.
• Troubleshoot and resolve operational challenges to minimise disruptions and maintain excellent customer service.
• Ensure compliance with all safety, quality, and company procedures.
• Collaborate with production, sales, and customer service teams to ensure smooth order fulfilment and communication.
• Be able to demonstrate a strong health and safety focus with a zero tolerance approach.
• Appropriate class full, clean drivers licence for trade vehicle (Class 2 essential, Class 4 an advantage)

The loading shift operates from 1pm pm, Monday - Friday.

This is a hands on role where you will be required to roll up your sleeves and muck in with plenty of variety to keep you on your toes.

What You'll Bring

• Minimum 3 years' leadership experience in logistics, dispatch, or transport operations (manufacturing or glass industry experience an advantage).
• Proven leadership skills with a focus on team development and performance improvement.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities under pressure.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• A proactive mindset with a commitment to safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.
