Huka Lodge is a luxury lodge located in Taupo and is an icon within the NZ tourist industry having been established in 1924 see .  The property is owned by LLNZ Huka Lodge Ltd and is now within the portfolio of luxury lodges operated by Baillie Lodges in NZ, Australia, Canada and Chile.  Dining at Huka Lodge is at the heart of the tradition of generous hospitality for which the lodge is world-renowned. Showcasing New Zealand's finest, often sustainably produced ingredients and complemented by a magnificent selection of wine, the menus at Huka Lodge are daily changing and reflect the seasons and the environment outdoors.

We are now looking for a Chef de Partie - Pastry to join our culinary team and take the next step in their culinary journey.

Duties include food preparation, stock control and storage, food costs, new recipes, kitchen hygiene, ensuring food quality and kitchen safety and providing positive leadership with the team, and helping to train more junior chefs.

You will have…

  • At least three years of kitchen experience as a pastry chef in quality restaurants, hotels, boutique lodges or patisserie outlets
  • A great sense of humour and the ability to instil this approach in your team
  • The willingness to support the kitchen and broader lodge team in day-to-day operations
  • The highest level of attention to detail
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with all levels of guests and team members
