FSQS NZ are seeking a Technical Manager to lead the technical and quality functions for our dairy and honey auditing business. This senior role is pivotal in ensuring compliance with regulatory standards (ie: Animal Products Act), maintaining accreditation, and driving continuous improvement across multiple sites and teams.
As Technical Manager, you will:
- Oversee and enhance our Quality Management System (QMS) in line with ISO 17020 and other relevant standards.
- Lead technical training, scope extension, and professional development for staff.
- Manage internal audits, external audit readiness (MPI, IANZ), complaints, and corrective actions.
- Develop and deliver new standards, checklists, and risk-based procedures.
- Support operational and strategic initiatives, including client relationships, new business, and representation at industry forums.
- Deliver technical services and verification as required.
Key Responsibilities
- Quality & Compliance: Maintain compliance with all legislation, standards, and accreditation requirements.
- Technical Leadership: Drive competency, training, and innovation within the technical team.
- Operational Support: Contribute to business growth, proposals, and customer relationships.
- Service Delivery: Provide high-quality verification and inspection services when needed.
To succeed in this role, you will bring:
- A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
- Strong knowledge of ISO 17020, food processing, and regulatory frameworks.
- Proven experience in senior management (minimum 5 years).
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- The ability to balance technical expertise with strategic business support.
