Mō tēnei tūranga | About the Opportunity
In this role, you'll help protect and enhance Fonterra's reputation by delivering strategic communications that connect with our key audiences—farmers, employees, and the New Zealand public. You'll be involved in everything from media engagement and content creation to supporting issues management and editorial planning.
You'll manage media channels, monitor coverage, and help shape the stories we tell. You'll also collaborate with internal teams to source compelling content and support the delivery of communications across multiple platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage with media and manage core media processes, including inbox and phone responses, media release distribution, and sentiment reporting
- Create high-quality content aligned with Fonterra's strategy and tone of voice, including written, visual, and video formats
- Participate in editorial planning and contribute to stories that support Fonterra's core narratives
- Support media interviews and messaging development
- Respond to communications queries and assist with proactive and reactive PR tasks
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to source and deliver engaging conten
Mōu | About You
We're looking for someone who is a strong writer and creative thinker, with a proactive and flexible attitude. You'll be digitally savvy, calm under pressure, and eager to contribute to a collaborative team environment.
To succeed in this role, you'll need:
- A tertiary qualification in communications, journalism, marketing, or a related field
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- A "make it happen" mindset and willingness to get involved
- Previous PR or writing experience (internship or similar) is preferred
