Are you a strategic leader with a passion for making a difference? Pregnancy Help is seeking a National General Manager to lead our organisation across New Zealand, driving operational excellence, team development, and community impact.

Location: Flexible within New Zealand

Hours of work: Around 30 hours per week, negotiable with the preferred candidate

About the Role

As the National General Manager, you'll be responsible for the day-to-day management of Pregnancy Help at a national level. You'll oversee strategic planning, operations, and people management across our branches, ensuring our services are delivered with consistency, compassion, and impact.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with the Board to develop and implement strategic and annual plans, and leads the national brand strategy with consistent implementation and regular progress reporting.
  • Drives continuous improvement in data collection and reporting, works with the National Treasurer on budgeting and financial planning, manages payroll and banking authorisations, and ensures the website reflects the organisation's mission and values.
  • Leads on securing funding streams, building relationships with funders and ensures that all funding opportunities are taken when available.
  • Leads and supports the National Coordinator and Branch Coordinators, oversees HR processes including contracts, performance appraisals, and disciplinary procedures, and serves as the main contact for employee queries and payroll reviews.
  • Promotes the organisation's services, builds partnerships with community organisations, and manages relationships with funding and sponsorship partners.
  • Ensures national compliance with legislation and policy, leads policy development and training across branches, and investigates complaints as required.
  • Prepares Board agendas, papers, and minutes, communicates Board decisions and updates to branches, and leads monthly meetings with Branch Coordinators as well as annual planning sessions.

  • Strong strategic thinking and operational management skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
  • HR and financial management experience.
  • Passion for community service and supporting families.
