About the role

With 262 centres and 4500 staff nationwide, BestStart Educare is seeking an experienced Financial Planning & Reporting Manager to lead our financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting functions. Reporting to our CFO, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping financial strategy, elevating performance, and providing the insights that support our vision to stand out as the leader in early childhood education.

You'll bring strategic thinking, a commercial mindset, and a passion for continuous improvement – driving operational excellence while influencing across all levels within our business.

You Will:

  • Lead, empower, and develop a high-performing finance team
  • Drive the annual budgeting and forecasting processes across the organisation
  • Deliver accurate, timely month-end reports, variance analysis, and strategic insights
  • Partner with senior leaders, auditors, and key stakeholders to ensure strong financial alignment
  • Enhance our ERP and Power BI tools for improved visibility, analysis, and decision making
  • Develop investment models and financial analysis to support decision-making
  • Championing financial best practice, innovation and continuous improvement

What we're looking for

  • Tertiary qualified in Commerce/Finance plus CA, CPA, or equivalent
  • Demonstrated senior-level experience in financial planning, reporting, and leadership
  • Strong commercial acumen and analytical capability
  • Confidence influencing at senior leader levels
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • A strategic thinker with the ability to balance detail and big-picture drivers
  • Someone energised by innovation, improvement and leading change
