About the Role:

We're looking for a mechanically minded Service Technician to join a respected Canterbury business specialising in fire protection systems. This is a varied role involving maintenance, servicing, and callouts for fire alarm and safety systems.

You don't need to come from the fire industry – we'll train you. If you've worked as a service tech, mechanic, or technician in another trade, and you're confident with tools and technology, you'll fit right in if you're willing to learn.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Carry out scheduled maintenance and servicing of fire alarm and safety systems
  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults, completing repairs to a high standard
  • Use computer tools and diagnostic software to test and program systems
  • Keep detailed service records and communicate clearly with clients
  • Support a safety-first culture and ensure all work meets compliance standards

What We're Looking For:

A trade, or service background – ideally with field service experience

Solid hands-on ability with mechanical and electrical components

Confident using computers, with an interest in learning system programming

Reliable, customer-focused, and a good communicator

Physically fit and comfortable working on ladders or in varied environments
