The Role
Based in Te Kuiti and reporting to the Regional Harvest Manager, this dynamic role makes a significant contribution to the operational success of the FMNZ harvest capacity.
Key parts of the role
- Co-ordinating and managing harvesting operations to provide the best possible result for our forest owners in conjunction with the Regional Harvest Manager
- Assisting with preparation/implementation of pre-harvest plans including roading and consent applications
- Monitoring contractor performance and progress
- Working in conjunction with other managers on harvest roading infrastructure and organisation of documents and external providers
- Auditing, log quality and woodflow checks with contractors
- Ensuring FMNZ environmental standards are adhered to
- Promotion of and compliance with health and safety standards
About You
- Harvesting background and practical knowledge of harvest operations (2-5 years)
- Good technical knowledge and skills in forestry, statistics/data analysis, and knowledge of relevant legal requirements such as the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015, Resource Management Act and NES-PF/CF
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Well-developed relationship management skills
- A tertiary qualification (a bonus but not essential)
