About this role | Mō tēnei tūranga

The Advisor, Sector Care Records will contribute to the development of recordkeeping practices and standards across the sector, including supporting new approaches to retention and disposal. By supporting schools and kura, you will help ensure the creation and maintenance of full and accurate records of a learner's time at school.

This role involves preparing and delivering practical training materials to help improve recordkeeping capability in schools and kura. You'll work collaboratively with sector bodies and government agencies to support initiatives that respond to the Royal Commission recommendations and strengthen care records across the education system.

If you are at the beginning of your career or looking for the next challenge, with a strong work ethic and a willingness to learn, this role is for you. Ideally you will have some experience in records and information management, coupled with strong analytical, communication and relationship-building skills.

You will also offer:

  • An understanding of care records, as well as relevant legislation such as the Public Records Act (2005), the Archives NZ Information and Records Standard (2016), the Privacy Act (2020), and the Official Information Act
  • Practical experience in customer support.
  • The ability and willingness to adhere to the Public Service Standards of Integrity and Conduct.

We're passionate about our work and the way we deliver it. Each day brings variety - from the systems we use to the information we manage and the people we collaborate with. This role offers a great opportunity to build experience in a dynamic and complex records and information management environment.
