Our client, a well-established Engineering firm in Tauranga is seeking an experienced Finance Manager

The Role

This is a part-time position Mon-Thurs (32 hours per week), although we need someone with a little flexibility during busy periods

  • Oversee day-to-day financial transactions, including invoicing, payroll processing, and expense management
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payments and collections
  • Prepare and present monthly staff costs, CAPEX budgets, and cash flow forecasts to management
  • Reconcile bank statements and financial records, ensuring accuracy and compliance
  • Assist in cost analysis, inventory valuation, and financial planning
  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations, VAT filings, and industry-specific financial reporting standards
  • Maintain and update accounting software and financial records, ensuring data integrity.
  • Support audits, liaise with external accountants, and implement internal financial controls.
  • Monitor financial risks, advise on cost-saving opportunities, and support decision-making
  • Track and report financial KPIs, providing feedback to management for continuous improvement

What we are looking for

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or business administration
  • Experience in Engineering or a similar multi project-based business
  • Proficient in financial software
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Understanding of manufacturing cost structures, inventory accounting and financial compliance
  • Ability to prepare and present financial reports
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • Must have strong IT skills
