International Partnerships Coordinator

- Fixed Term till April 2026
A new era in vocational education is taking shape in Tāmaki Makaurau. Auckland's public vocational education landscape will be transformed through the unification of Unitec and Manukau Institute of Technology, two respected institutions with over 50 years of service to the region. This change presents a unique opportunity to reimagine vocational learning so it genuinely reflects and serves the aspirations of our diverse communities, industries, and Māori across the region. It's a bold step toward a more equitable and responsive education system, one grounded in partnership, purpose, and place.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and detail-oriented International Partnerships Coordinator to join our team. This role is designed to support the Director International – Tāmaki and the leadership team in driving operational effectiveness and strengthening international relationships.
In this position, you will be responsible for managing inbound and outbound visits, delegations, and events that enhance partnership value. This includes planning and implementing events, preparing budgets and timelines, liaising with participants, and ensuring all activities run smoothly. You will also provide support for delegation activities such as meeting briefings, catering arrangements, and translation or interpreting when required.
The role also involves supporting transnational education projects by assisting with proposals, applications for regulatory approval, and ensuring projects are delivered effectively and on time. You will facilitate communication with international partners in English and Mandarin, often dealing with complex administrative, financial, and regulatory matters. Strong organisational skills and attention to detail will be key as you manage documentation and provide administrative support for these projects.
To succeed in this role, you will bring a relationship-focused approach and experience in developing and maintaining client relationships. Fluency in Mandarin Chinese is essential, along with experience supporting leadership teams and working in a complex office environment. You will have strong reporting and analytical skills, demonstrate excellent cross-cultural awareness, and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. Excellent communication skills, problem-solving ability, and a positive, self-motivated attitude are crucial.
