Mō te Tūranga | About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and visionary leader to join our Group Risk – Financial Crime team as Head of Financial Crime Intelligence & Compliance. This critical role provides strategic leadership and oversight of SkyCity's financial crime intelligence and compliance functions, ensuring a proactive, intelligence-led approach to detecting, preventing, and mitigating financial crime risks.

You will drive the integration of advanced analytics, intelligence capabilities, and compliance frameworks to safeguard SkyCity against evolving threats while meeting regulatory obligations and maintaining the highest standards of integrity and operational excellence.

  • Lead the development and execution of SkyCity's financial crime strategy, aligning with organisational objectives and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee AML/CFT programmes, risk assessments, and compliance frameworks across the Group.
  • Establish and manage intelligence-led methodologies for identifying emerging financial crime risks.
  • Maintain strong engagement with law enforcement, regulators, and industry bodies to enhance intelligence-sharing and best practice adoption.
  • Drive quality assurance processes, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing team of compliance and intelligence professionals.

Mōu | About You

  • Tertiary qualification in Law, Finance, Risk Management, or related field (AML/Financial Crime certification such as CAMS preferred).
  • 10+ years' experience in financial crime, compliance, or intelligence roles, with at least 5 years in leadership.
  • Deep understanding of AML/CFT regulations, compliance frameworks, and risk management.
  • Familiarity with advanced analytics tools and intelligence platforms.
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proven ability to implement quality assurance processes and drive continuous improvement.
