Redpath Partners are partnering with a well-regarded main contractor that has built a strong reputation delivering outstanding high-quality work within commercial interiors, commercial new build and residential sectors across the Central Otago region.

Projects typically range from $5m to $20m, spanning retail, education, high-end architectural homes and density housing. With an experienced team and having invested in good people, they are now strengthening their pre-construction function to align with a strong confirmed workload of secured work while they look to build on their pipeline.

Role

You'll step into a key Estimator role as part of an established and capable team. The role suits someone with experience pricing mixed scale vertical builds.

You'll work in collaboration with the Commercial Manager and external Estimator to deliver end-to-end tender submissions, from early pricing and take-offs through to subcontractor engagement and final submission strategy. This is a hands-on estimating role with a business that values accuracy, process, and commercial thinking.

The responsibilities of the role will include:


• Full tender process: measurement, cost planning, and submission

• Interpreting drawings/specs and preparing BOQs and take-offs

• Engaging with subcontractors and suppliers – pricing, scope review, T&Cs

• Working closely the internal leadership team and internal stakeholders

• Identifying risk, buildability issues, and cost-saving opportunities

• Providing input into budgets and early cost planning

Requirements

You're an Estimator with at least 5 years of experience in the local market (or Australia), with exposure to commercial or residential construction. You understand NZ procurement and subcontractor markets, and you're confident working autonomously within a collaborative team environment. Relevant tertiary qualifications in construction or quantity surveying are expected. Intermediate and senior-level candidates will be considered, depending on experience.
