*Mō mātou - About us*

Together, we make a lasting difference.

When you join Presbyterian Support Central (PSC), you're becoming part of something truly special, a not-for-profit organisation that's been helping people for more than 115 years.

Everything we do is about supporting people at the most vulnerable times of their lives, whether that's an older person needing care and connection, or a family working through tough times

Enliven is a not-for-profit service providing aged residential care to older people in the lower half of the North Island.  We are a values based organisation that cares about our staff as much as we do about our residents and we support everyone who becomes a part of the Enliven family.

Our Enliven residential services create age-friendly communities where people are happy and thrive, regardless of their age or ability. Our homes and villages are places where older people have companionship, choice, variety, fun, meaningful activity and a sense of purpose.

*Mō te tūranga - About the role*

This is a split role spending40 hours per fortnight role as our Recreation Officer and  4 hours per fortnight as our Village Co-Ordinator, opportunity may exist for additional hours, depending on the operational needs of the Home/Village. The hours are Friday to Sunday.

As Recreation Officer, you will plan and facilitate individual resident's recreation plans and implement these across the Home. Activities can occur across any day of the week, so a willingness and ability to work across the full week is an advantage.

The key aspects:

  • Resident/client service delivery that provides a rich and diverse experience
  • Driving and transportation of residents/clients
  • Ensuring outings and activities are well planned and Health and Safety protocols followed
  • Encourage residents to maintain their independence, learn new skills and maintain connections with their community

As Village Co-Ordinator, you will be responsible for welcoming new residents, and assisting them with their transition into our Enliven community, once settled you will offer continued support to all our residents; ensuring that changes, updates, events and notices are effectively communicated, and being a key point of contact for them. Please note you will also be required to drive the home van for external activities.

*Mō koe - About You*

As well as a passion for the wellbeing of older people, you will be enthusiastic but patient and well organised with great interpersonal skills. You will share our values of empathy, compassion, and respect. A commitment to Enliven's Eden philosophy of care is a key component of this role.

Key Skills include:

  • Qualification in Diversional Therapy or studying towards obtaining this
  • Have flexibility to participate fully in life at our home, which may mean working outside of normal hours for events and celebrations, and to support specific activities at times
  • Experience in a customer-facing role, including associated administration
  • Be computer literate and able to work with various systems/databases
  • Full, clean New Zealand driver's license and able to drive a manual van with passengers

*What's in it for me?*

Enliven offers a compassionate environment where upskilling and training are highly valued. We support our staff in gaining nationally recognized qualifications through paid study days and workshops.

You will also enjoy:

  • Pay range from $25.04 to $33.27 depending on your experience and qualifications
  • Education and long service leave as well as standard leave
  • Staff Wellbeing initiatives - because we want to care for our staff as much as they care for our Elders
  • Working as part of a collaborative team of like minded people
  • Discounted healthcare cover and access to further discounts with NZ retailers
