About the Role:
As Finance Manger, you will be responsible for overseeing the commercial financial operations of Apex Water, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting, compliance with statutory obligations, and providing strategic financial guidance to support business growth. This role leads a small finance team, fostering collaboration, development, and high performance, while partnering with project and operational teams to drive profitable outcomes for the business.
Reporting to the Group CFO of Citycare Group ,with a dotted line to the Apex Water General Manager, this role will have the autonomy to lead the finance function of the Apex Water business, while also having the support and guidance of a Group Finance Team.
While this role is advertised at full-time we would be open to considering flexible work arrangements such as reduced hours (minimum 30 per week).
About You:
- Ideally you will be CA or CPA qualified or equivalent with strong knowledge of NZ accounting standards and best practices.
- Previous experience working in the construction and/or engineering industry.
- Solid understanding of financial reporting, tax compliance, internal controls, and audit requirements.
- Strong numerical skills with the ability to analyse and interpret financial data effectively.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and Word. MYOB would be advantageous.
- Strategic thinker with a hands-on approach and the ability to balance operational and long-term priorities.
- Proven analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong people leader with the ability to coach and mentor a small team.
